Dorothy Mae Fizer, 96, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019. She was born on Feb. 6, 1923, a daughter of the late Frances Sigel Hindman and the late Clarence B. Hindman, the last of the 10 siblings to be reunited with her family in Heaven.
Dorothy was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, WVCEOS, the Red Hatters and danced with the original Morgantown String of Pearls chorus line. She was a stay-at-home mother who raised four boys.
She is survived by three sons and spouses, Guy R. Fizer Jr., David A. Fizer and wife, Wanda, all of Morgantown, and Randall E. and Joyce Fizer of Idaho; eight grandchildren, Guy R. Fizer III, Lisa Fizer Little, David J. Fizer, Christopher Fizer, Brian Fizer, Brittany L. Clise, Eric Guy Fizer and Zachary Fizer; 11 great-grandchildren, Kylene Fizer, Hunter S. Fizer, David Fizer, Kayden B. Hosey, Jaxon T. Perani, Charleigh R. Clise, Halle Fizer, Hudson Fizer, Daxton Fizer, Garrett Fizer; and one great-great grandchild, Harrison Green.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Guy R. Fizer Sr.; son, Rodney S. Fizer; grandson, Jason David Fizer; and great-grandson, Campbell B. Fizer.
Family and friends will be received at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 3334B University Ave., from 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, until the time of the service at 1 p.m. with Father John V. Di Bacco officiating. In accordance with her wishes, cremation services will follow.
