West Virginia men’s basketball team emerges at No. 25 in AP poll

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — West Virginia is back in the men’s basketball Associated Press top 25 poll at No. 25 this week, which was revealed Monday.

It is the Mountaineers’ first appearance since the beginning of the 2019 season when they were ranked 13th in AP’s preseason poll.

It’s the ninth season West Virginia has made an appearance in the polls since veteran coach Bob Huggins returned to his alma mater in 2007.

WVU is currently four spots outside this week’s top 25 in the coaches’ poll at 29th with 31 votes.

West Virginia improved to 9-1 with an 83-57 blowout victory over Nicholls on Saturday afternoon.
