MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Senior defender Sebastian Garcia-Herreros of the West Virginia men’s soccer team has been named to the United Soccer Coaches all-north region third team, the organization announced Monday.
The honor marks the first of the Southwest Ranches, Fla. native’s career. Garcia-Herreros made 17 starts for the Mountaineers this season, helping the squad to the MAC tournament championship and berth into the NCAA tournament. He finished with two assists in 1,506 minutes played, fifth-most on the team, aiding the back line in producing six shutouts on the year.
In addition to the all-region honor, Garcia-Herreros represented the Mountaineers on the all-MAC second team in November.
