Marjorie F. Lee, 87, of Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019, at Mon Health Medical Center.
Throughout her life, Marjorie worked in retail, cleaned houses and went to nursing school where she became a LPN and retired from WVU Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing puzzle books, going to play Bingo, playing scrabble, reading her bible daily and spending time with family.
She never missed a holiday, a special occasion or a birthday where she didn’t send a card to a family member or friend. At Christmas time, everyone looked forward to her famous nut rolls.
She is survived by a son, James E. Miller; two daughters, Rebecca S. Ferguson, Judy Simons and spouse, Harry; a son-in-law, Ronald H. Smith, all of Morgantown; and stepchildren, Robert E. Lee Jr. and his wife Lisa, George Lee, Doug Lee, Susie Johnston and Mary Jane Mitchell. She has many grandchildren who called her “Grandma Lee” and great-grandchildren who called her “old grandma” whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Lee; a daughter, Elizabeth J. Smith; and a sister, Edith Starz.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from noon-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, until funeral service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin Cain officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
