A Morgantown man was arrested after the Mon Metro Drug Task Force found drugs and a gun during a search of his apartment.
Clay William Westbrook III is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Westbrook admitted to selling meth in an interview following his arrest, according to a criminal complaint.
The task force searched Westbrook’s Montrose Avenue apartment on Wednesday. Inside, a “substantial” amount of meth, prepackaged bags of heroin, a bag of cocaine base, digital scales, including one with white powdery residue, and folded foil packaging were found, the complaint said.
Officers also found a .380 Ruger pistol with ammunition in the bathroom. Westbrook was convicted for sexual battery and kidnapping/false imprisonment, both felonies, from a 2014 case in Duval County, Fla., and is not allowed to own firearms, the complaint said.
Westbrook told officers he gave a woman about $75 worth of crystal meth for the pistol, according to the complaint.
Westbrook is being held in North Central Regional Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
