Thelma Dalton, 82, of Morgantown, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019. She was born in Clay County, on March 7, 1937, the daughter of the late John Thomas & Melcenia (Cook) Lewis.
Thelma retired as a cook for over 30 years of Mon County schools. She was a Baptist by faith and loved gospel music. Each day her life reflected her strong Christian belief.
Thelma is survived by two sons, Kevin Dalton and wife, Barbara and Roland Dalton and wife, Kelly; two daughters, Karen Sue May, and Roxie Donaldson and husband, Butch; eight grandchildren, Joey, Burdett, Troy, Hailey, Corrina, Roland T., Levi and Joseph; great-grandchildren, David and Nicholette; three siblings, Ronnie, Lonnie and Emmalee; and special friend, Ed Austin.
In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Harold “Hoy” Dalton and several siblings.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St. Morgantown, from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5. Visitation will continue from noon on Friday, Dec. 6, until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m., with the Reverend Jim Freeland and Pastor Donna Dalton officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
