John Lee McCord, 62, of Cassville, passed away Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family. John was born April 12, 1957, in Morgantown, a son of the late Herbert L. McCord Sr. and Emma Gaye Jackson McCord.
John had been employed as a coal miner. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing and camping.
John is survived by his wife, Vicki Robinson McCord, one son Jason Lee McCord, of Cassville, one daughter, Kristina McCord Wells and Jason Wells, of Cassville, grandsons, Logan and Luke Wells, two brothers, James A. and Linda McCord, of Cassville, and Herbert L. and Joyce McCord Jr., of Bunners Ridge, who loved him very much and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by one sister, Marlena M. Ponceroff and his grandparents, Elbert A. and Amanda J. McCord and Flora M. and James R. Jackson.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Kristina and Jason for the love and care given to their father.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in John’s memory to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
There will not be any visitation or services. McCulla Funeral Home will provide cremation services.
