Succession order could
put Pelosi in Oval Office
I watched the entire impeachment hearings on Donald J. Trump, the elected president of the United States of America.
I was shocked at the mannerisms of the Democrats’ so-called interrogators.
They constantly interrupted the Republicans who cross-examined the so-called witnesses. The witnesses were given a copy of their testimony, so they could refer to it to prevent them from committing perjury.
All the witnesses were a bunch of losers who thought they were untouchables, that their jobs were theirs for life.
Most of them were foreigners who became U.S. citizens.
The only person to benefit from this fiasco is the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. She is third in succession to the president and vice president.
Most people I spoke to had no idea she would become president if Trump and Vice President Mike Pence were impeached or die in office.
I honestly believe this is her goal in life and she is using her position as speaker to do so. She would most likely have Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., as vice president.
Most people do not know the order of succession of our elected officials to the presidency. Read the Constitution of the United States of America.

Goldberg an apologist
for a corrupt system
Jonah Goldberg doesn’t respect me. He doesn’t believe there is such a thing as “unfettered capitalism,” the kind that crushes working people so that billionaires can live tax-free (DP-Nov. 25). He cites all the government departments that rein in the capitalists: HUD, FDA, EPA, OSHA and the IRS. We have a minimum wage and Social Security now, he declares.
What he doesn’t say, but most of us know, is that the Republican Party since 1981 has fought to dismantle all of these agencies, and that the current administration, in particular, has turned EPA and the FDA against their original mandate, that is, to protect the natural environment and the health and safety of our people. Instead, these agencies are now working against those goals, allowing workplace safety violations and more pollution instead of making our air and water cleaner and our workplaces safer.
The massive tax cuts will help the very rich, while big corporations often pay nothing in taxes, and, in fact, ask for subsidies. Meanwhile, the federal minimum wage hasn’t gone up in 10 years, and Social Security and Medicare are under threat of cuts.
Goldberg assumes no one will notice that we are no longer in the Carter administration, and that government has become the slave of “unfettered capitalism.” Hopefully, most of us are smart enough to recognize that he is an apologist for a corrupt system.

Trump is staining our
nation’s heart and soul
There is a rudderless ship in the world today and it’s called the United States of America.
President Trump’s eccentric (erratic?) behavior cannot continue to be shielded as that’s Trump just being Trump.
He has vowed on several occasions to take the oil in the Middle East.
Coming from the president how does that affect the soldier sacrificing his or her life fighting to promote democracy and freedom throughout the world?
Have we under President Trump now become an army of mercenaries that eventually take oil, silver and gold?
Trump’s public impeachment inquiry, the fourth in our nation’s history, is a sign there is something wrong in America.
This impeachment inquiry is not about stains on an intern’s dress by a president who humbled himself.
This inquiry is about stains being put on the heart and soul of America and what we stand for as Americans.
