KINGWOOD — A dinner and raffle event has grown for the Preston County Chamber of Commerce.
More than 400 women attended Girls Day Out Bash Sunday at the Craig Civic Center.
“It’s our largest fundraiser,” Kristy Ash, executive director of the Preston County Chamber of Commerce, said. “Last year we sold over 410 tickets. We’re over that this year.”
Girls Day Out offered chances to win jewelry, Coach and Michael Kors products and more.
Board member Bill Shockey said funds from the function helps the chamber maintain its annual budget.
“The money is used for operating expenses and advertising,” he said.
Along with games and prize drawings, was a pasta and salad bar. Soft drinks, margaritas, craft beer and wine was also on the menu.
“We have a lot of good support,” Shockey said. “Deer season is predominately a male sport. This gives Mom an opportunity to socialize.”
The bash was sponsored by The Dominion Post, Street’s Store LTD, Alpine Lake Resort, Bill’s Tree Service, Clear Mountain Bank, Gaydos and Turner PLLC, Houses and More Real Estate, Kingwood Pharmacy, Preston Memorial Hospital, Rainbow Tire, Wesbanco, Kim Riley, Preston County Senior Citizens, Scoops and Joy, Shaffer’s Printing, and the Bright Law Firm PLLC.
