Lawrence Johns

Lawrence L. “Bill” Johns Jr., 86, of Granville, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019. He was born in Morgantown on Jan. 1, 1933, to the late Lawrence L. Johns Sr. and Mildred Ruth Carlin Johns.

Bill lived his life for his wife, Sandra Johns, who was the love of his life, and he often made mention of her being the best thing that ever happened to him. He enjoyed attending HOPE Church when they were able.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Janice Cox (Bob), of Ohio; sons, Melvin Marquess (Linda), of Morgantown, and Geoffrey Johns (Tami), of Granville; grandchildren, Chardonnay Johns, Jazmine Johns, Chaunte Johns, Aliza Johns, Mila Johns, Bob Marquess, Christian Marquess and David Liston; great-grandchildren, Amity Holmes and Diamond Marquess; sister, Sandra Vernon (Roger), of Morgantown; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Johns; sisters, Patricia Reed and Judith Johns; and a brother, Gene Johns.
Friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home from 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, until the funeral service at 3 p.m. with Pastor Allen Donham and Roger Vernon officiating. Bill will be laid to rest alongside his wife, Sandra, at the Masontown Cemetery.
