Robert Lee “Turtle” Carpenter Jr., 67, of Looneyville, W.Va., formerly of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019, at his home. He was born Sept. 9, 1952, a son of Robert Lee Carpenter Sr., of Tampa, Fla., and the late Helen Wallow Carpenter.
Robert was raised in the Morgantown-Hildebrand area and was a graduate of Morgantown High school. He was employed as an electrician at Chemtura and was a member of the Landmark Baptist Church in Looneyville. Robert enjoyed being outdoors and especially loved hunting and fishing
In addition to his father, Robert is survived by his wife, Lisa Kinison Carpenter; two daughters, Brandy Carpenter, of Lincoln, Calif., and Bobbie Jo Carpenter, of Lodi, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Amber Faulknier, of Masontown, W.Va.; one stepson, Kyle Hilling, of Hedgesville; sisters, Lois Rothfarb, Sand Bair and Debbie McClellan; brother, Gary Carpenter; grandchildren, Lacie Huckabee, Fisher Lee Marco, Mallory Marco, Ryland Morse, Maverick Morse, Karmen Faulknier and Kyah Faulknier; and nephews, Brian Carpenter and Joey Carpenter.
In addition to his mother, Robert was preceded in death by one brother, Doug Carpenter.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Morgantown, from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Thursday, and from 10 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. funeral service with Pastor John Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.
