MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The West Virginia women’s basketball team made its debut in the Associated Press poll released Monday, coming in at No. 25.
The Mountaineers (3-0) received 68 points to rank at No. 25, just six points behind No. 23 Gonzaga and Tennessee.
WVU is one of two Big 12 schools appearing in the poll along with defending national champion Baylor, which ranks at No. 2 with 697 points. Additionally, Texas received five votes.
West Virginia will host Coppin State at 10 a.m. Thursday as part of Education Day at the WVU Coliseum.
