Mary Jane Hunter, of Morgantown, passed away Nov. 8, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was “90 and fabulous!”
Mary Jane was born April 4, 1929. She grew up working her small family farm on what is now West Run Road in Morgantown. She loved her job as a cook for Easton Elementary School, where she took pride in serving students and watching them grow up. She loved seeing and telling stories about her former students. She proudly raised two children and two granddaughters.
Mary Jane enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for the family using fresh food from her garden and milk from their dairy farm. Flower gardening was something that she loved doing, as well as mowing her lawn. Her big heart carried over into her church family at Forks-of-Cheat Baptist Church, where she had been a member and treasurer for many years.
