Catherine Ann “Kit” Cassi, 86, of Tallahassee, Fla., and formerly of Morgantown, died at her home in Florida on Monday, Sept. 30, 2019. Born June 5, 1933, in Sabraton, she was a daughter of the late Romeo Cassi and Anna (Pyecha) Cassi.
Following her graduation from Morgantown High School in 1950, she served in the U.S. Air Force from August 1951 to December 1952, where she furthered her education. Kit taught school in Racine, Wis., for a year, before moving south to Miami, Fla. With more education, she become a physical therapist, and lived and worked in Miami, until her retirement, and move to Tallahassee.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a great-nephew, Nicholas Reese.
Surviving is one brother, John A. Cassi, of Point Marion, Pa., and one sister, Carol Flaton, of San Jose, Calif., two nieces, Tina Marshel, of Morgantown, and Anita Adamek, of California; two nephews, John M. Cassi, of Point Marion, and Anthony Adamek, of Florida; and many cousins.
Also surviving is her special extended family in Tallahassee, Nick and Keeley Cogan and their children, Kenley, Kellin, Kassi, Kai, Karwen, Kolya and Kade.
Honoring her wishes, there were no public services. Cremation was provided by Bevis Funeral Home, Tallahassee, and obituary provided by the Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion.
