Mary Ellen Savage, 93, formerly of Wades Road, Morgantown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019, at Morgantown Health & Rehabilitation.
Mary was born Jan. 21, 1926, in Bretz, daughter of Giuseppe “Joseph” and Ethel Uphold Petrucci.
Mary Ellen worked at Sterling Faucet, Morgan Shirt Factory and later for WVU Hospital in the laundry and food service.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bruce E. Savage Jr.; her son, Joseph “Joe” Savage; and three brothers, Ronald, Joseph and Olando Petrucci.
Her surviving family members include her five children, Karin Savage Rife, of Morgantown, Bruce Edward Savage III, of Derry, Pa., LouAnn Cooley and husband, Chuck, of Star City, Mark Savage and wife, Peggy, and Monty Savage and wife, Lisa, all of Mount Morris, Pa.; her daughter-in-law, Becky Savage, of Morgantown; her brother, Ray Stanley “Buddy” Sapp, of Littleton; 16 grandchildren and their families, Diana, Tamara, Ted, Bruce W., Sheri, Carrie, Billie Jo, Benjamin, Courtney, Dan, Beth, Mark, Mary Ann, Christy, Jessica and Monty II; 40 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Family will receive friends at Fred Jenkins Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, until the 11 a.m. services with Pastor Craig Falkenstine officiating. Mary Ellen will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, in Mount Morris.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Morgantown Health and Rehabilitation for the compassionate care given to Mary Ellen over the past couple of years.
