Jacqueline “Jackie” Caserta, 89, of Morgantown passed away Nov. 1, 2019.
Born on May 23, 1930, she is the daughter of the late Harry L. Horne Sr. and Anna E. (Steve) Horne.
Jackie was a 1948 graduate of St. Francis High School and a long-standing member of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church.
She retired from C&P Telephone/Bell Atlantic, where she worked as a service representative, for 35 years. After her retirement, she became an active member in the Telephone Pioneers.
She was a loving wife of 51 years, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed WVU sports and liked attending football and basketball games. She also loved gardening and took great pride in her yard.
In addition to her husband, Richard Caserta, she is survived by two children, Michele Wagner and husband, Andy, and Ricarda Fortney and husband, David; seven grandchildren, Mason and Mia Fortney and Brooke, Bridget, Natalie, Kaitlyn and Andrew Wagner; and sister, Ann “Honey” Horne.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Louise Coombs, Harry Horne Jr., and Joann Bercik.
Jackie’s family wishes to thank Mon Health Cancer Center and Morgantown Hospice for their compassionate and loving care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in her memory.
Friends and family will be held at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 19 Jo Glen Drive, from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. Nov. 7, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Father Biju T. Devassy as celebrant.
Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
