Russell Faulknier

Russell Paul “Kootcher” Faulknier, 72, of Oak Hill, formerly of Morgantown, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 24 2019. He was born July 4, 1947, in Osage, to the now deceased William J. Faulknier and Lucille V. Faulknier (Shahan).

Russell was a retired coal miner, Army veteran, lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, avid hunter and fisherman who loved spending time with his family and making others smile. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Russell is survived by his wife Diana Faulknier; daughters Amy Faulknier, Summer Smallwood and husband Kenneth, and Robin Backus; sisters Darlene Faulknier and Clara Edgell; granddaughters Sophia Faulknier and Vicktoria Kelly, grandson Joseph Kelly and wife Heather; great-grandchildren Lilah Kelly, Parker Kelly, Josie Kelly; and lifelong family friends Robert “Bobby” Cost Jr. and Jerry Corley.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents William J. Faulknier and Lucille V. Faulknier (Shahan); his loving wife of 44 years Virginia L. Faulknier (Richardson); brother, William D. Faulknier; sisters Shirley D. Corley, and Betty J. Faulknier.
A memorial in celebration of his life will be planned at a later date.
