Richard “Rick” Lewis Ripley Jr., 63, of Morgantown, unexpectedly passed away on Oct. 31, 2019. He was born on Oct. 25, 1956, to the late Richard Lewis Ripley Sr. and Mary Grimm Ripley.
Rick was a proud member of the Local Carpenters Union 436. He also enjoyed woodworking in his free time. He was an avid science fiction enthusiast. He enjoyed reading and had a thirst for knowledge.
He is survived by his three children, Tanya Ripley, Cassandra Ripley and Richard Lewis Ripley III; two stepchildren, Shelly Flores and Alan Bolyard; his two grandchildren, Gage Ripley and Kaylie Smith as well as many other stepgrandchildren that were very dear to him. He is also survived by his partner, Colleen Matthews; and his siblings, Dot Duffer, Timothy Ripley and Kathy Simpson.
Rick is preceded in death by his niece Christi LaVaughn Duffer and nephew Steve Duffer III.
Friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Burial will take place at the Ripley Family Cemetery.
