Paul Mason Clarkson, 74, of Fellowsville, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2019 in VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. He was born on June 19, 1945, at Marquess, son of the late William Earl Clarkson Sr. and Mildred Lorraine Thomas Clarkson.
Paul graduated from Fellowsville High School. He served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Coaltrain in Reedsville and Luck Stone Company in Va. He enjoyed mowing grass, riding his tractor, going to the casinos, traveling, especially on cruises. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Paul is survived by his wife, Linda Lou Funk Clarkson of 49 years, Fellowsville; one son, Gary Clarkson and Judy, Rowlesburg; one daughter, Kimberly Dawn Clarkson Zink and husband, Todd “Toby,” Fellowsville; three grandchildren, Ashley Arbogast and husband Nathaniel Kyle, Adam Clarkson and Evan Clarkson, Rowlesburg; five great-grandchildren, Braxton Kyle Arbogast, Oliver Arbogast, Jada Shearie Zink, Aidan Shaun Zink and Gage Todd Zink; one granddaughter-in-law, Chelsea Zink; one brother, Neil Clarkson, Thornton; one sister, Betty Hamilton and Terry, Thornton; two sister-in-laws, Joanne Clarkson, Thornton; Betty Warden and Mike, Richmond, Va.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by one grandson, Justin Todd Zink; one brother, Earl Clarkson Jr; two sister-in-laws, Lana Clarkson and Dolly Hixenbaugh.
Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown St. Newburg, WV, 2-9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, and 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019, until time of service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rotha Hall officiating. Military graveside service will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post#3081, the American Legion Taylor County Post#12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24, and their auxiliaries, and the US Army. Interment will follow at the Mount Zion Cemetery.
