Injury-laden Warriors pick up seventh loss of the year, fall to No. 13 East Hardy 39-0

BAKER, W.Va. — With just 14 players making the road-trip to No. 13 East Hardy (6-3), Trinity found another loss in Week 9.

The Cougars exploded on senior night to deliver a 39-0 shutout to the Warriors (2-7), stymieing their bread and butter run-heavy offense with quarterback Drew Boczek still out with injury. To put into perspective the defensive force Trinity faced, EHHS allowed the Warriors past the midfield mark just once the entire game.

Davon Eldridge rushed 13 times, but ended the night with -15 yards (-1.1 yards per carry). His positive yardage came in the air, going 8 of 21 for 43 yards.

Levi Teets led the Warriors in rushing, picking up 12 yards on 9 carries. His lone reception went nowhere. Nick Beimel was the only other Warrior to find positive yardage, adding 3 yards on two carries.

Mason Steptoe picked up the majority of receiving yards, snagging two receptions for 18 yards. Jonathan Moore (4 receptions, 10 yards) and Kyle Knight (1 reception, 15 yards) added the remaining 25 yards.

Knight’s lone field goal attempt of the night — a 47 yard boot — came in the closing seconds and missed the uprights.

Trinity finishes its revival season on the road at Wirt County (3-6) next Friday. The Tigers will be refreshed off a bye this week, looking to snap back from a disappointing 20-13 home loss to No. 4 Ritchie County in Week 8.
