Women athletes deserve same respect as men
“Girls are going to shoot behind the men’s line.”
That’s The Dominion Post quoting WVU women’s basketball coach Mike Carey in Wednesday’s Sports section. Assuming the quote is accurate (I have no reason to believe otherwise), it is a stunning public display of disrespect for female players by their own coach.
College basketball players who are women work just as hard as the men, hone the same skills and deserve the same respect. They are not little girls. They will face more than enough gender disparities in the real world after they leave WVU. They shouldn’t have to tolerate such attitudes in college.
Time to join the 21st century, coach!

Time to vote Democrats
out of Congress in 2020
The political state of America has gone crazy. The Democrats want to get rid of President Trump because they can’t buy this president and they can’t bully him into doing what they want.
The president, I am sure, is smart enough to know what he can do without breaking the law. The things that Democrats are saying that he has done is made up to try to turn the American people against him.
Just like many were afraid of President John F. Kennedy’s new ideas they are now afraid of President Trump’s.
Trump wants to rid Congress of the corruption that has been part and parcel of it for decades. The Democrats are afraid their gravy train is about to be derailed.
Hillary Clinton is thinking about running again for president. If all of you want the corruption to continue, then by all means vote for crooked Hillary. She is the reason I switched from being a Democrat to a Republican.
I agree that some of things President Trump has said are a little off the wall, but what he has done — creating jobs, trying to put the breaks on immigrants from pouring into America and stopping other countries from taking advantage of us — is all sound policy.
Sounds like he is one president that is working for the people, unlike members of Congress working for themselves.
The Democrats have not shown me that they are for the American people, so help President Trump stop the congressional corruption and vote these Democrats out of Congress when most of them are up for re-election in 2020.

State needs to clean up
orange cones along I-79
I was just wondering if the state of West Virginia still has an ordinance for littering and if they ever impose a fine for littering?
If so, whoever is in charge of the orange pylon cones that litter both north and south bound lanes on Interstate 79 stretching for five miles from the Star City exit to the Mount Morris, Pa., exit should be handed a very hefty fine for littering.
These “cones” have been strewn on the sides of the roadway for months since they supposedly finished working for two-plus years repairing this stretch of interstate.
Don’t you think it’s time for someone to take the initiative and clean up their act?
