A mural on the outside wall of Milan Puskar Health Right in downtown Morgantown is nearing completion.
The mural will feature three area leaders: Charlene Marshall, Yasmeen Mustafa and John W. Garlow.
Marshall, whose image is accompanied by the word “Leadership,” was Morgantown’s first black mayor, who went on to serve in the West Virginia House of Delegates.
She was mayor from 1991-1998 and delegate from 1998-2002 and 2004-2014.
Mustafa’s likeness is accompanied by the word “Interfaith.” She is credited with being a founding member of the Greater Morgantown Interfaith Association in 1954.
Garlow’s word is “Advocacy.” He founded the Friendship House as a drop-in center for people with mental health diagnoses in 1964, in downtown Morgantown.
Those painting the mural are expected to be working on it today.
