Charlotte Mae Shomo Matheny, 65, of Granville, passed away Monday morning, Oct. 28, 2019, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 4, 1954, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Francis and Rachel Stowe Shomo.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; daughters, Ashley D. and Amanda L. Matheny, both of Morgantown; four grandchildren, Rylan Vernon, Kaleb Krushansky and Kerra and D.J. Matheny; a brother, Michael Shomo and his children, Jessie and J. Mike; and a sister, Annette Shomo Engle and husband, Steven, of Ocean City, Md.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Shomo.
Charlotte was the rock of her family, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who always gave more than she received.
Friends may join the family to honor Charlotte’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/ Morgantown, from 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, until the time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Neil Leftwich officiating.
