Denigrating immigrants may have led to violence
The Dominion Post, in its uncritical piece about President Trump’s speech in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, says that the president was interrupted by a heckler with a white banner that was yanked away, and the heckler was removed.
According to the Israeli website “Haaretz” and the group “Bend The Arc,” 14 protesters were arrested. The banner (that was yanked away) said “Trump Endangers Jews.”
This weekend marks a year since the shootings at Tree of Life in Pittsburgh. The shooter blamed Tree of Life for supporting HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society), a Jewish group that helps refugees from other countries.
Trump’s consistent denigrating of immigrants may have led to this violence. As the protesters were arrested, the president remarked “They don’t know who they are dealing with,” which some took as thinly veiled threat.
I’m sorry this part of the story didn’t make it into the newspaper’s article.

Why not eat pumpkins
we use for decorations?
What is the largest single component of U.S. landfills? Food.
Why are many Latin Americans trying to enter the United States? Droughts have caused food shortages.
Pumpkins are very tasty, healthful plants. They are especially good when eaten raw. So why on Halloween do Americans use them as decorations — then dump them?
