Alberta J. Walker, 91, of Hundred, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019, at her residence.
She was born January 12, 1928, in Hagans, a daughter of the late Harold Swann and Mildred Michael Swann.
Mrs. Walker was a retired secretary for the Monongalia County Board of Education. She served as the secretary at the Blacksville, Wadestown and Pentress Elementary Schools for many years.
She was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Fairmont.
Surviving are one son and his wife, Alan Walker and his wife, Darlene, of Hundred; one sister, Marlene Rundle, of Fairmont; two granddaughters and their husbands, Alyssa Henderson and her husband, Bill, and Diedra Huggins and her husband, Nathan, all of Hundred; and four great-grandchildren, Cole Henderson, Casey Henderson, Roxie Huggins and Jaxon Huggins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Carl “Bill” Walker; one sister, Joann Michael; and two brothers, Harold “Bud” Swann and Billy Swann.
Friends may call at Owen-Neely Funeral Home, in Blacksville, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Jason Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
