LAWRENCE, Kan. — The West Virginia women’s soccer team had a 1-1 draw with No. 23 Kansas on Thursday at Rock Chalk Park.
The match ended up going into overtime and being played for 110 minutes.
WVU (8-6-2, 3-3-1 Big 12) scored first in the fifth minute after a goal by Enzi Broussard — her second of the season. Jordan Brewster recorded the assist.
Kansas (11-4-2, 3-2-2 Big 12) notched the equalizer in the 84 minute after a goal by Ceri Holland — her sixth of the season. Kathryn Castro and Bri Amos tallied assists in the process.
Rylee Foster finished the game with nine saves for the Mountaineers. Sarah Peters had two saves in the net for Kansas.
The Jayhawks stifled WVU’s defense by only allowing five total shots in the contest. Kansas recorded 26 shots and also led in corner kicks 8-3.
WVU was called for more fouls than Kansas 7-4.
