John Harker

John Owen “J. O.” Harker, 58, of Hundred, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019, at his residence. He was born Feb. 12, 1961 at Morgantown, a son of Patricia Cosgray Spangler of Hundred and the late Glenn Owen Harker.

J. O. worked as a CNA. Most of the time he had done private duty care. He was very actively involved with showing and breeding of Morgan Horses. He was a member of the American Morgan Horse Association, the Inter County Morgan Horse Association, the Greene County Horseman’s Association, and the Wetzel County Farm Bureau.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by an uncle, John R. Statler of Wadestown; a step-sister, Carolyn V. Allison; and cousins, Melvin and Sue Fluharty, Chris Fluharty, Craig Fluharty, David Bohse, and Elizabeth Getz.

He was preceded in death by his father, his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Rose Harker; his maternal grandparents, Pat and Mary Cosgray; and two aunts, Helen H. “Dolly” or “Granny” Statler and Charlotte Bohse.

At the request of the deceased his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at some time in the near future. The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred is in charge of arrangements.
