Emma Regina Michael, 91, of Daybrook, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, at her home.
She was born Sept. 8, 1928, in Daybrook, the daughter of Homer and Gladys Headley Henderson.
Jean was a 1947 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School. Drama was her favorite subject and Mrs. Bunner made sure that she always had a part in every play. Jean was a faithful member of the Daybrook Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school for many years.
In the early seventies, Jean and her husband owned the Blacksville Variety Store, where she made many flower arrangements and in her spare time she loved working outside on her flower beds.
Jean was musically inclined and loved to sing. She belonged in a few local bands and could play the mandolin, guitar and the piano by ear. She was a member of the Clay District Fair Association. Jean also enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events throughout the years. She loved family get togethers and her Daybrook community. In later years, Jean loved to use water colors and paint scenery from greeting cards and Christmas cards. One of her favorite pastimes was playing the card game Setback with family.
