MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — No. 4 Texas (12-2, 6-0 Big 12) defeated West Virginia (10-9, 1-5 Big 12) in three sets Saturday to remain perfect in conference play.
The Longhorns won out in grand fashion, downing WVU 25-13 and 25-17 in the first two sets, and holding off the Mountaineers comeback 26-24 in set 3.
Skylar Fields led Texas recording 13 kills on 23 attacks for a .522 hitting percentage. The Longhorns totaled a .355 overall hitting percentage on the day, proving why they’re the best attackers in the conference. Additionally, Jhenna Gabriel — ranked second in the conference in assists — had a team-high 35 dishes.
Katelyn Evans led the Mountaineers with 14 kills, but also had 10 errors on 48 attacks. Briana Lynch added nine kills on her 15 attacks. WVU totaled a .118 hitting percentage.
Lacey Zerwas led WVU in assists with 29, while Alexa Hasting had a game-high 14 digs.

Texas: The Longhorns will attempt to remain perfect when they take on Baylor at home on Wednesday. The Lady Bears (15-0, 5-0 Big 12) are currently the top team in the conference and have remained undefeated through the entire season, but their record will be challenged Saturday at 7 p.m. in a home game with Texas Tech.
