City Hall sidewalks will be closed for repairs

The City of Morgantown contracted with Commercial Builders Inc. to begin repairs to the vaulted sidewalks in front of City Hall.

The work will start Monday and is expected to take three to four months.

Access to City Hall will be maintained throughout the project via the front double doors of the building. Also, for the duration of the project, the west Spruce Street travel lane will be closed to traffic from Wall Street to Fayette Street. Parking along Fayette Street adjacent to City Hall will be prohibited.

Construction will take place over two phases.

During the first phase of construction, the front doors of City Hall and the finance department entrance will be accessible from the south side of the building.

During the second phase of construction, the front doors of City Hall will be accessible from the north side of the building. The entrance to the finance department will be temporarily blocked.
