Kenneth Charles Brown, 75, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, at J.W. Ruby Memorial
Hospital.
He was born Oct. 30, 1943, in Clayton, N.Y., a son of the late Charles James Brown and the late Edna Mae Brown, nee Longway.
Survivors include his two children, Eric Brown, of Morgantown, and Christina Smith and her husband Travis, of Morgantown; one grandson, Carter Smith, of Morgantown; and one brother, Douglas Brown, of Alexandria Bay, N.Y.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Brown.
In his youth, Ken piloted tour boats on the St. Lawrence River in the Thousand Island area, which he maintained a lifelong affection for near his hometown of Alexandria Bay. He was also a police officer in Kingwood and then, for decades, was a dedicated nurse who also did in-home health care and worked in substance abuse recovery for teens. He loved Peanuts comic strips.
A celebration of Ken’s life for family and friends will be held at a later date, which will be announced.
