Lorna Joann Hagedorn, 86, of Morgantown, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, at her home.
She was born in Morgantown, on March 18, 1933, the daughter of the late Clyde William “Buckwheat” Hagedorn and Ottie Ethel (Tennant) Hagedorn.
Lorna was a long-time member of Melon Chapel. During her years, she worked at Morgan Shirt Factory, Sterling Faucet (for 24 years) and bartended too. She was known along with her sister, Granny Blosser, to sing at retirement homes, sagebrush round ups and various other places.
Lorna is survived by seven children, David Kirkendall, Joann Duncan, Sandy Evers, Debby Knicely, Mandy Barill, Bill Hagedorn and Scott Hagedorn; 26 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Lorna was preceded in death by one son, Floyd Kirkendall; and all five of her siblings, Clyde William Hagedorn Jr., Berl R. Hagedorn, Norma Blosser, Minnie Bell Coulson and Janice May Whittaker.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from noon-3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, and from 5 p.m. until the time of the service at 8 p.m. with Papaw Gig Fragale officiating. In accordance with her wishes, cremation services will follow.
