MORGANTOWN – At about 2 a.m. Oct. 3, officers of the Morgantown Police Department encountered a vehicle driving the wrong way on Moreland Street and conducted a traffic stop when the vehicle attempted to turn northbound onto High Street.
When the officer approached the vehicle, he found three occupants in the vehicle and could smell a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The officer requested a K9 unit to conduct an air sniff of the vehicle. Officers removed the three occupants to conduct the air sniff. It was at this time that one of the individuals fled on foot heading towards Spruce Street. The individual was apprehended by officers in a parking lot on Pleasant Street and Chestnut Street.
Officers conducted a search of the area where the individual fled and recovered two baggies containing 29.1 grams of cocaine and 27 pills of Oxycodone. A search of the individual resulted in officers recovering a small scale and $453. Upon return to the vehicle, the K9 unit indicated a positive test of the vehicle for narcotics. Officers searched the vehicle and recovered $1,672 and two bags of marijuana totaling 106.4 grams.
Javon Williams, 21, of Dumfries, Va., was placed under arrest and charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver Oxycodone, and conspiracy to commit a felony. David Robinson, 22, of Dumfries, Va., was placed under arrest and charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver Oxycodone, and conspiracy to commit a felony. Dalonta Kendall, 18, of Dumfries, Va., was placed under arrest and charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver Oxycodone, and conspiracy to commit a felony.
All three suspects were transported to the Morgantown Police Department for booking and are being held at the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department pending arraignment.
