KINGWOOD — A Masontown man is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance after police say he tried to pickup a package containing drugs.
Justin Ray Boring, 35, was in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail Thursday in lieu of $30,000 bond.
According to a criminal complaint by State Police Trooper J.L. Anglin, a Kingwood business that acts as a FedEx location called Preston 911 Wednesday with a drug complaint. Officers said they saw a man, later identified as Boring, walk to the back of the store as they arrived.
Employees showed troopers a package delivered earlier that day. It contained a coloring book, and inside the book were sealed packages of a crystal substance (which later field tested positive as meth), Xanax, Diazepam and an unknown substance.
Employees told officers that Boring was in the store for a second time to pick up the package. The first time he came in, he had been, “very loud and demanding,” according to the complaint. Boring’s name was on the address label.
Trooper Anglin wrote that he asked Boring to identify himself and he did, saying he was there because the store employees would not give him his package. He was arrested.
The complaint does not say why employees became suspicious of the package.
