MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — The West Virginia women’s basketball team will play both Kansas State and Kansas on the road before hosting Texas to begin its 2019-20 Big 12 schedule.
The conference announced the league schedule Wednesday, completing the Mountaineers’ 29-game regular season.
Tip-off times and TV coverage will be announced at a later date.
It’s the fourth consecutive season the Mountaineers being conference play on the road, beginning Jan. 5 at Kansas State, which will be followed with a road game against Kansas three days later.
WVU will open at home against Texas, on Jan. 12, in a matchup against a perennial Big 12 power.
The Big 12 schedule is a home-and-home format, with nine league games on the road and nine at home.
Baylor has won the last nine Big 12 regular-season titles. WVU will travel to Baylor on Jan. 18 and will host the Bears on Feb. 24.
Other WVU Big 12 home games: Jan. 15 (Oklahoma), Jan. 22 (Oklahoma State), Feb. 2 (Iowa State), Feb. 11 (Kansas State), Feb. 15 (Texas Tech), Feb. 22 (Kansas) and March 7 against TCU, which is the Mountaineers’ final game of the regular season.
The 2020 Big 12 women’s tournament is scheduled for March 12-15, at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri.
