Colleen (Foster) Groves

Colleen (Foster) Groves, 87, a lifelong resident of Stewartstown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, in Point Manor Personal Care Home of Point Marion. She was born Thursday, June 30, 1932, in Fairmont, daughter of the late Earl and Edith (Knight) Foster.

Colleen was a member of the Morgantown Christian Missionary Alliance Church since 1986. She was a faithful servant and source of comfort by making hundreds of phone calls and arranging food for many funeral meals. She held the position of Deaconess Emeritus. She loved spending time outside working in her flower gardens and was an excellent cook and baker, especially her buckwheat cakes and cinnamon rolls. Most of all, Colleen loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jeannie Groves, of Morgantown; grandson, Joseph Groves and wife, Jamie Lee, of Maryland; granddaughter, Jamie Marie Groves, of Florida; and great-granddaughter, Philomena Ruth Groves, of Maryland; sisters, Diane Gilbersleeve and husband Herb, of New York, Norma Floccari, of Florida, and Patty Smith, of Ohio; brothers, David Foster and wife Kathy, of Arizona, Roger Foster and wife Judy, of California, and Jim Foster and wife Lynn, of Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin Groves; two brothers, Harry Foster and Eugene Foster; and her beloved sisters, Betty Kelley and Marketa Cantoni.

The family would like to express their love and gratitude to all of the Point Manor staff and the Amedisys Hospice staff of Masontown, Pa., for their compassionate and loving care of Colleen.

Family and friends will be received in the Louis E. Rudolph Funeral Home, Thomas B. Rudolph, Funeral Director & Supervisor, 15 N. Main St., Point Marion, PA, from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20. Visitation will continue at Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 308 Elmhurst St., Morgantown, at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept, 21, until 4 p.m., the hour of service, with Pastor Douglas Miller officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations may be made to Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 308 Elmhurst St., Morgantown, WV 26505.
