Steven Wayne Helmick

Steven Wayne Helmick, of Morgantown, passed away early Thursday morning, Aug. 29, 2019, at Leisure Chateau Care & Rehabilitation Center, in Lakewood, N.J., following an extended illness at the age of 61.
Born May 24, 1958, in Buckhannon, Steven was a son of the late Carl and Regina Raikes Helmick.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Kay Smith Helmick; one daughter, Ashley Helmick Boateng and her husband, Edward, of Morgantown; one granddaughter, Esme Afia Boateng; and several siblings, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, several brothers preceded him in death.
Steven enjoyed hunting, fishing and auto racing.
Friends may join the family to honor Steven’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/ Morgantown, from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4. Following the visitation, Steven’s request for cremation will honored by his family. He will be inurned at East Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date.
