Thomas A. Close, 75, of Bruceton Mills, passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, at Mon Health Medical Center with his loving family by his side after a long battle with heart disease.
He was born Feb. 29, 1944, in St. Georges, the son of Toots Close and Naomi (Bohon) Close.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen M. (Schnopp) Close, of Bruceton Mills; his children Sharon Herring (Christopher), of Farmington, Pa., Susie Shirley (Todd), of Kingwood; grandchildren, Kristen Herring (Josh Monroe), of Bruceton, Brandon Herring (Kalie), of Farmington, Pa., Jason Kelly, of Brucetonl; stepgrandchildren, Hannah and Kendall Shirley, of Fairmont; great-grandchildren, Bailee Herring, of Bruceton Mills; and beloved pet, Skippy. Also surviving are his siblings, Leonard Close (Dottie), of Kingwood, Nancy Stiles, Debra Mayfield (Butch), both of Whetsell Settlement, and Donna Titchenell, of Sioux Falls, S.D.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald R. Crawford Funeral Home, Farmington, Pa. All services will be private for the family.
