Ralph Henry Strakal, 86, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, Aug. 16, 2019.
The son of the late Joseph F. and Julia A. Sura Strakal, he was born April 1, 1933, in Pursglove.
Ralph was a retired United States Airforce staff sergeant. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Fairmont State College. Ralph attended the Russian Orthodox Church in Westover and was a life member of the North American Hunting Club, the American Legion in Point Marion and the DAV of Morgantown. He was a past member of the Mon. County Sheriff Reserve and enjoyed making small wood crafts in his spare time.
Ralph is survived by three sons, Kenneth Strakal and his wife, Ping, Ralph James Strakal and his wife, Mary, and Michael K. Strakal; three step-daughters, Pam Kennedy, Deborah Roe and Beth Ann Shay; a brother, Joseph Edward Strakal; a sister, Joyce Strakal; and four grandchildren, Tammy Strakal, Jeremy Strakal, Joshua Strakal and Miranda Strakal.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Goldie Mae Strakal; his second wife, Patricia Ann Strakal; a son, Robert Tyrell Strakal; two daughters, Janice Marie Strakal and Tina Louise Strakal; and a brother, Robert Strakal.
Family and friends will be received at Fred L Jenkins Funeral Home from
3-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22. A private burial with full military honors will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
