A dead body found behind Spring Hill Suites in Sabraton is being investigated by the Morgantown Police Department.
An unidentified white male was found dead in a grassy area just before 5 p.m. on Thursday by Adam Thompson, while he was walking home from work at Burger King.
Thompson told police he saw the man alive and talking to himself about 2 p.m. He thought the guy was high on meth, he said.
When Thompson walked by again a few hours later, the guy didn’t look like he was breathing and Thompson called 911. He said you could see the man’s ribcage and he watched for a few minutes to see if he was breathing before calling 911. He did not approach the body or recognize the man.
Chief Ed Preston said there were no immediate signs of foul play but that as with all unattended deaths the crime scene would be processed and the death treated as a homicide until a definitive cause of death is found.
