A Philadelphia man was sentenced to more than 19 years in prison for taking part in a meth operation.
Terry W. Trapp, 49, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances on Wednesday in the Northern District of West Virginia, according to U.S. Attorney Bill Powell.
He admitted to participating in a drug distribution operation in October 2018. According to his federal indictment, Trapp had more than 500 grams, or one pound, of meth. Other drug-related charges and a firearm-related charge were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. He was sentenced to 235 months in prison.
On Oct. 9 an officer with the Morgantown Police Department stopped Oscar Watkins Jr. Watkins said he was staying at the Euro Suites and was caught delivering a pound of crystal meth to someone at the hotel’s parking lot. Watkins Jr. was sentenced to 156 months, or 13 years in prison, on May 30.
Trapp was found in Room 411 with five pounds of crystal meth in several bulk packages and dozens of smaller packages, Mon Metro Drug Task Force Commander R. Jiles said at the time.
Four handguns were also found in the room.
