The Monongalia County Justice Center and courts across West Virginia will be closed on Friday.
After Gov. Jim Justice declared July 5 a holiday for state employees, Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia announced the judicial holiday on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.
Mon Commission President Tom Bloom said the commission will close the justice center and the announcement will be made later on Wednesday.
Bloom said county employees would also have Friday off.
The Preston County Courthouse and Annex will be closed Friday.
Kingwood City offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. There will be no trash pickup on Thursday, and the transfer station will be closed on the Fourth. On Friday both Thursday and Friday trash will be picked up and the transfer station will be open 7 a.m.-2 p.m. The transfer station will be open 7 a.m.-noon Saturday.
