A man was life-flighted to the hospital Monday night, after a fire at an apartment complex on Brookhaven Road.
The victim, who was first treated on the scene at Brook View Apartments, suffered second-degree burns, according to scanner traffic. Radio traffic indicated the burns appeared to be on his upper extremities. He was transported to a medical facility via helicopter, which landed at Brookhaven Elementary. Brookhaven Road was temporarily blocked during the incident.
A number of crews, including Brookhaven VFD, Star City VFD and Cheat Lake VFD, responded.
The state fire marshal’s office is investigating, according to an official.
