There are two remaining scheduled events in June at the West Virginia Botanic Garden before summer fun begins with more programs. Details about scheduled programs and events for this summer are now available at the website, wvbg.org.
From 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Dave Smaldone will teach participants how to use simple settings on their digital cameras (not smartphones), give compositional tips and encourage seeing creatively in a variety of natural settings. Beginner and intermediate photographers ages 12 and older are welcome. Cost is $15 for WVBG members; $25 for non-members.
Also, on Saturday, bring friends and family to enjoy Burgers and Brews at the Garden at 6 p.m. Join Chef Mark Tasker of Table9 and Short Story Brewery for an evening of music, beer and burgers. Seats are limited, so register now at wvbg.org.
Do you enjoy taking photos at the Botanic Garden? If so, you may be interested in entering the Mon Arts Photo Trail photo contest. Submissions will be accepted through June. For more information, click on the event on our website at wvbg.org.
A Season of Good Taste continues with a Summer Sunday Brunch at 11 a.m. July 21. Chef Josh McKenzie from Iron Horse Tavern will prepare an array of brunch entrees and libations to bring in the lazy days of summer. Guitarist Nathan Stewart, manager at Iron Horse, will be playing during the event.
WVBG is at 1061 Tyrone Road in Morgantown. The garden is open from dawn to dusk daily with no admission fee, but donations are appreciated. The gate to the lower parking lot is generally open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays, and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. weekends.
