KINGWOOD, W.Va. — The search continues for a missing man whose burned truck was found Wednesday.
Philip “Buckie” Barlow’s burnt pickup was found about 7:10 a.m. Wednesday on Showerbath Road, according to Preston Sheriff Dan Loughrie.
Showerbath is a shortcut between W.Va. 26 and W.Va. 72, which runs by the Kingwood sewer plant and garbage transfer station.
Loughrie said searchers looked until after dark Wednesday for Barlow, who is about 60 years old. Family-organized searches in various areas resumed this morning.
Loughrie said Barlow typically got up about midnight, packed his lunch and drove to work at Hillside Trucking in Kingwood, where he started work at 1 a.m.
According to Facebook posts by his family, he was last heard from about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday while getting ready for work but did not show for work.
His sister-in-law wrote that Barlow’s “phone was pinged at 12:01 a.m. one-quarter mile from his house, phone pinged again at 12:29 a.m. around the Dollar General Store in Tunnelton never to ping again, truck burned around 7 a.m.”
“We are asking for help from everyone, to get the word out and to ask local and state news stations to get the word out,” Bonnie Barlow wrote. “We don’t know anything at this point,” the sheriff said this morning. “Hopefully we’ll uncover something today.”
