Jacqueline “Jackie” Kay Bucklew, 68, of Kingwood, died on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pa.
Jackie was born September 22, 1950, in Kingwood, a daughter of the late Herbert Russell and Mary Minerva (Elliot) Sterling.
She retired after teaching for over 25 years in Morgantown and then Arkansas. Jackie enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, John Bucklew; two daughters and spouse, Cheryl and Barry Carter, of Canonsburg, Pa., Dawn Hovatter and companion Andy Bailey, of Clarksburg; one sister and spouse, Thera Jeanene and George Vincent, of Bridgeport; five grandchildren, Makayla Hovatter, Logan Hovatter, Brandon Hanlin, Shelby Hanlin, and Martina Carter; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert “Herb” Russell Sterling Jr. and L. William “Bill” Sterling; and two sisters, Sandy Garlitz and Mary Joretha Johnson.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, and from 12 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, until the 1 p.m. funeral service with the Reverend David Spence officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Niche Wall.
