Clayton Eugene Benson, 66, of Kingwood, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, in Morgantown, with his family by his side.
Clayton was born in Morgantown, on July 29, 1952, a son of late William E. Benson and Mary Ellen (Ringer) Benson.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and soon to be great-grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his side by side and playing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed sports, especially WVU and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He worked for Laurel Aggregates of Delaware LLC for 23 years until his retirement on January 4, 2019.
Clayton is survived by his wife, Debra (Liston) Benson; one son, James Eugene Benson, of Kingwood; three grandchildren, Parker James Frum, Natalie LeeAnn Benson and Carson James Benson; one great-grandson due in May, Tye Jonas Frum; two sisters, Judy A. Groves and husband Marvin, of Kingwood and Linda S. Slaton and husband Dave, of Grafton; one brother, William S. Benson and wife Annette, of Pa; nieces and nephews, Brooks, Mitchell, Courtney, Daniel, Myles, Deidre, Matthew, Katelyn, Devon, Derica, Victoria, Jennifer, Justin, Nathaniel, Anthony, William, Christina, Brandon, William; several great-nieces and nephews; mother and father-in-law, Charles and Phyllis Liston; and three brothers-in-law, Samuel Liston and wife Candace, Randall Liston and wife Sharon and Ricky Liston and wife Lisa.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home, in Masontown, from 2 – 8 p.m. on Monday, May 13. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, with the Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Masontown.
