Mabel Brock Hartley, 98, of River Road, Morgantown, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2019, at WVU Medicine.
Mabel was born in Beechwood on Oct. 15, 1920, to the late Charles M. Brock and Hazel Brand Brock.
Mabel graduated from University High School and the Morgantown Business College.
During her working days, Mabel worked for the Postal Service in the Naval Housing Division, the WVU Extension Office and later was secretary to the Dean of Women and Students at WVU.
She was a part of the Flaggy Meadow CEOs, volunteered her time as a 4H Club leader and loved reading and writing. Mabel was an active member at First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed serving others and sharing her gifts.
Mabel is survived by her daughters, Sharon Miller, of Parkersburg, and Susan Brancheau (Robert), of Richmond, Texas; grandchildren, Timothy Miller (Beth), Tamara Miller, Sarah Watson (David), Amanda Brancheau, Zachary Hartley and Casey Hartley (Jessica); and great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Ethan Miller, Logan and Taylor Watson and Jackson Hartley.
In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Hartley; sons, David Hartley and Joel Hartley; daughter-in-law, Sandra Hartley; and son-in-law, Bill Miller.
Family and friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, until the 11 a.m. funeral service with the Rev. Dick Hepler officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hill Cemetery.
