Dorothy Blanche Knotts, 76, of Terra Alta, died Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland, Md.
The daughter of the late Harry G. and Goldie P. Davis DeWitt, she was born Oct. 5, 1942 in Kingwood.
She retired from Hopemont Hospital after working for almost 25 years. She loved to do jigsaw puzzles, bird watching and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by three daughters and spouses, Robin “Becky” and Ron Nazelrod, of Terra Alta, Dory Fike and companion, Kevin Michaels, of Kitzmiller, Md., and Marcie Jo and Michael Shahan, of Terra Alta; two sons, Donald R. Knotts Jr. and wife, Martha and Tim Knotts, all of Terra Alta; one brother, Roger DeWitt, of Terra Alta; a sister, Evaline DeStefani, of Harrisonburg, Va.; 10 grandchildren, Mathew (Krista) Nazelrod, Charidy (Glenn) Roberts, Kristin (Pat) Jones, Veronica Hovatter, Ryan Knotts and wife, Charlyn, Hailey Knotts (Kyle Grimm), Latasha (Jordan) Edwards, Derick (Courtney) Van Brunt, Desaray and Monika Van Brunt; and 14 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Knotts Sr. in 1995; four brothers, one sister; two grandchildren, Whitney Moats and Joshua J. Van Brunt Jr.; and one great-granddaughter.
Family and friends will be received at Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, Terra Alta, from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, with the Rev. Aaron Knotts officiating. Burial will follow at Terra Alta Cemetery.
