KINGWOOD — A man who ran away from the area of Preston Memorial Hospital Tuesday was found Thursday night by searchers.
According to a release from the Preston County Sheriff’s Department, Joshua A. Marchman, 29, had apparently fallen about 30 feet in a heavily wooded area and then rolled further. He was listed in fair condition Friday at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
He was located about 6:45 p.m. Thursday, and it took several hours to remove him from the wooded area. He was taken to the Preston High School football field, where HealthNet medical helicopter picked him up about 11:15 p.m. and took him to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the fall,
According to the release, Marchman’s mother took him to the Kingwood hospital Tuesday. He left, and officers from the Preston County Sheriff’s Department, Masontown Police and West Virginia State Police checked the area around PMH.
On Thursday, Marchman’s mother said she still hadn’t heard from her son, so the Mountaineer Area Rescue Group was contacted. Six search and rescue dogs and more than 36 volunteers began searching Thursday afternoon.
